Ryan is Of Counsel at Bautista Leroy where he represents clients in catastrophic injury and death cases with an emphasis on nursing home abuse, medical malpractice, and serious personal injury. Immediately prior to joining Bautista Leroy, Ryan opened the nursing home abuse and medical malpractice departments for the St. Louis office of a national injury firm. His practice is dedicated to helping people who have suffered due to the negligent or reckless conduct of others by working to secure compensation and accountability that will help them move on to a better place in their lives. He makes it a point to give each client the personal attention that can only be provided at a small practice like Bautista Leroy.

Ryan brings a valuable perspective and experience to Bautista Leroy having spent most of his career on the defense side as an attorney representing the interests of doctors, hospitals, health systems, corporations, and insurance companies. Over his twenty-plus years of practice as a defense lawyer, Ryan tried over thirty cases to verdict and settled hundreds more. Based on his achievements, Ryan was recognized by Missouri Lawyers Weekly in 2021 as one of the most powerful health care attorneys in the state of Missouri. His experience on the defense side gives him unique insight into how insurers and corporate claims departments evaluate, defend, and resolve injury and death claims. After witnessing how insurers and corporations resist paying fair damages in the interest of maximizing profits, Ryan was inspired to switch the focus of his practice to helping those who have been injured or killed by the wrongdoing of others.
Ryan brings with him a wealth of experience with complex cases for the benefit of clients of Bautista Leroy. He has handled nursing home abuse cases where system failures and a “profits over people” mentality have led to bed sores, falls, medication errors, infection, and inadequate staffing. He has similarly handled medical malpractice cases across numerous areas of medicine including emergency medicine, surgery, obstetrics, cardiology, neurology, critical care, and more. Ryan also represents clients in other personal injury cases including car and truck crashes, falls, and defective products.
Ryan has lived in Missouri all of his life and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. He then earned his JD from Saint Louis University where he was an editor of the Saint Louis University Public Law Review. Ryan is licensed to practice law by the state bars of Missouri and Illinois as well as in the United States District Courts of Missouri, Kansas, and Central and Southern Illinois. He has been rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell® and recognized by Thomson Reuters as a Missouri Super Lawyer for several years.
Ryan is a proud resident of the City of St. Louis where he resides with his wife Nicole and their daughter Emma. Outside the office Ryan can be found attending Emma's soccer games, walking his dog in Forest Park, following the St. Louis Cardinals, and traveling with his family.
